I am in the middle of my third year of residency. We have one year of outpatient duties, three full days and two half days with the rest of the schedule being taken up by conferences or teaching. I am curious about average patient load in clinic including total number of patients and average # seen in a day.

In my clinic I see between 3-6 patients in a morning typically. I would also suggest that it's very useful to build in a little bit of crisis leeway so you've got time to catch up on things or deal with issues as they arise.

Anywhere from 5-13 patients in a day, depending on no-shows.
We have administrative staff meetings q Wednesday, case conference q Tuesday, and classes with grand rounds most of the day on Friday. I see anywhere from 70-100+ patients/month
