Are there any outside projects you can do during residency that allow you to earn extra money, like research?

Sometimes. But a lot of times you don't get compensated for doing projects. The compensation is your name on the paper.

You can sell your plasma! 😉 Or if you are an O- and happen to have some rare antigens, try to sell your red cells to be used as test cells for blood bank serology. I was hoping I would find a rare antigen on my RBC's when I ran my own serotype, but since I am AB+ it would not have mattered anyway!
