A good majority of my patients speak little (if any) English, and the typical questions I ask before bringing them back to the OR are pretty in-depth (especially if they have several co-morbidities). I've been meaning to bone up on my medical spanish for quite some time now. My husband is a software developer and used a website to translate some of his programs into Arabic last year and sent me the link. Thought you all might want to bookmark it for future use.

It will translate over a dozen languages into English (or the other way around) and it's FREE. All you have to do is type in the phrase you want translated ("Do you have any allergies?", "When was the last time you had anything to eat or drink?", etc.) and it does it - presto! A one-time registration is needed to give you a password, and that's it. Hope someone finds it useful.

There's always babelfish.altavista.com. Don't really know which one's more accurate.
