Hey ladies and gents, long time follower, new member and first thread.
I was advised by a few professors not to take math and science classes during the summer.
Well do to certain circumstances I have registered for a BIO and Pre-Calc for summer II session. Now I am rethinking it, cause as we know I just don't need to pass these classes I need to do very well. So know I am thinking if I should stay the course I'm on now, drop one of the classes (most likely bio) or drop them both.

Any advice?

thanks in advance!

I'm taking Gen Chem this summer now. It's obviously a lot shorter than a regular semester (five weeks versus four months) but the class also meets every day, and even though it's fast paced, since I'm only taking this one class I can handle it.

the math professor I got is great, I had him last semester (and this coming fall semester) his teaching style is great and he doesn't assign a lot of work and gives easy quizzes. I never had the bio teacher and according to the majority of opinions on ratemyprofessor he is a great teacher but is tough for summer classes. But does everything he can to set you up for success.

Heck I don't know what I should do!

Yes the bio has a lab component(the class is mon-thurs, 8-11:25 am, the math is tues/thurs 6-9:25 pm) I think I am a very good student so I might just be doubting myself. I have nothing else going on- I have volunteering one day a week. I'm still kind of early in the game.

Why aren't you taking these classes during the normal school year? Medical schools like to see that you take several pre-req science classes at once so they know that you can handle the coursework. It's always best to try and take these courses with a full course load.

I'm taking a bio class with lab, gen chem 2 with lab and statistics in the fall. Along with a history elective

I've tried taking two science classes in the summer, and it doesn't work, at all. With labs and everything else, it becomes too much of a time commitment, leaving not enough hours to actually study the material. However, my time management is not the best yet, so you may fare better than me, but I know one thing: for five weeks, these two classes are what you're going to be doing from sun-up to sun-down.

yeah, that's why I am on the fence about it, it will take up every spare moment I have, and its not like I just have to pass the class's, I have get A's . I also have 3 young children. maybe I will drop the bio class.

thanks everyone for the advice and responding!
