You would think that all rotations on VSAS would be on the same schedule, but alas I have one rotation scheduled for 9/24-10/19 and another from 9/15-11/9. Two different specialties at different locations, both are places I would love to match at.

This can't be an uncommon occurrence. How should I handle this? Do I have to essentially have to pick the one I want to do the full month on on either leave early for one or show up late to the other? I don't have anything planned after the 9/15-11/9 rotation, so maybe I can just ask to stay a week longer on that one.

Any thoughts or advice greatly appreciated.

This year half the schools are starting July 9th and half are starting July 2nd. That's why the rotations do not line up. I found that some schools were very willing to work with me and give me an off-cycle rotation, others have big bold statements on their VSAS pages that absolutely no changes to dates will be considered. You need to see if either institution is willing to let you moves the dates by a week.

If not... you may have to pick one over the other. Or you can see if you can go to one of them for 3 weeks, but your school might not give you credit.

you'll likely have to pick. it seems unlikely that you'll be able to wiggle your way out of this one seeing as the rotations are essentially in the same block.
