Does anybody know what ovovipary animals are?

I am finding contradicting definition. one says that ovoviviparity is a mode of reproduction in animals in which embryos develop inside eggs that are retained within the mother's body until they are ready to hatch ( i don't know it they mean outside or inside), but other definition says that the egg develops and hatches within the body of a mother. I am confused.

thanks!!!! 🙂

There is oviparous, viviparous, and ovoviviparous.

Oviparous = lays eggs externally.

Viviparous = internal embryo (think humans).

Combine the two, you get ovoviviparous = eggs are laid inside and hatched inside, newborns come out from inside the mother.
