1. should have gone to medschool
2. pay is fine
3. work many more hours than my physician colleagues. Pas in my group typically work 50+ hrs more/mo than the docs in the group. ( for 1/3 the pay, although as I said the money is fine-as good or better than many entry level primary care docs).
4. too many arbitrary restrictions which vary from place to place which say "PA can not do xyz".
5. if you are considering PA and want good autonomy and scope of practice rural is the only way to go. I have to drive 2-3 hrs from a major metro area to work to a level which challenges me.
