Hi,

Does anyone have any experiences with the Pace PsyD program? This can be around the application process (interview), professors, classes, overall program impression etc

I interviewed there 2 years ago. It was definitely the worst, least organized and least friendly process I've been to. The professors were clearly just going through the motions and couldn't even pretend to be interested. I talked to several other people who interviewed there who reported similiar experiences, so it wasn't just me.

But that was just one year, who knows what the process will be like now.

Is anyone else applying to the PACE School-Clinical Psy.D. program this fall? I've had so much trouble finding out information about applying! I found a website but it's hardly informative (http://web.pace.edu/dyson/psychology/psydgi.html) and there are two separate admissions offices addresses on the graduate admissions website and I wasn't sure which to send my transcript to. I sent my recommendations to the White Plains address because I didn't realize there were two admissions offices, so I hope that's not an issue... anyone else having this problem/ know where the program is located? (Manhattan or White Plains?)

When I applied and interviewed there two years ago, everything was in Manhattan near wall street.

I want to second the sentiments expressed by Faded. I applied to the school-clinical program there a few years back. It seemed, at that time too, to be a plain awful program. Other psyd programs that i applied to (school-clinical) had a MUCH better feel (Yeshiva, SUNY Buffalo) as did other school psych programs in nyc area (rutgers and columbia in nyc area, and other phd programs in school psych in other states). By far the worst of the 9 programs I interviewed at (in my opinion, obviously, at the time).

Again, years later, (as these posts are from at least 5 years ago) I would like to back up the sentiments of the Pace PsyD interview process. I interviewed there just a few weeks ago and it was very unorganized and relatively uninformative - a disappointing experience, especially traveling to New York from out of state. Built into the interview day, you interview with both a current student and 2 members of the faculty. My student interviewer was late and I only had 5 minutes with her. The 2 faculty members interviewed me together and after every answer I gave, they would talk amongst themselves in front of me, having a tangential conversation, which I felt wasted time. Overall, I did not feel very welcome on the day of the interview.

Just based on my feeling from that day, I ruled out Pace and will likely be attending Yeshiva's School-Clinical program.

If this is an inaccurate portrayal of the program, then Pace should seriously consider putting more attention and care into the interview process. If this is in fact an accurate portrayal, then I am glad I was able to rule them out.
