ICD's - not very often from what I have seen.
There are still quite a few general cardiologists who are older and who implant pacemakers. They've been doing them for years. Also some general and cardiothoracic surgeons do pacemakers also.

Not too may non-EPs are doing ICDs from what I've seen as well..

There are a fair amount of general, interventional and CT surgeons who do pacemakers in the community (maybe up to 50%). For the general and interventional cardiologists I imagine this will die down a little (or a lot) as the newer generation who haven't been grandfathered in will have more difficulty in getting appropriate training during fellowship (most EP guys at academic centers aren't going to go out of their way to train you) and hospital privleges will get a little more restrictive in time favoring only EP docs IMO... unless your in a small community that doesn't have EP docs.
