What is the best place to stay and easiest way to get to the school from the hotels/area and back to the airport?

SF has plenty choices for public transportation--BART and MUNI should literally take you anywhere you need to go in the city. If you want to save $$, then just stay out from the financial dist. You will find tons of hotels around SF airport. I took bart and got off at the powell station, then took the 38 bus at powell/geary intersection, which took me to just several blocks away from the school. You will make it in less than 1 hour.
