Did they tell you about the tier system in their email?I just heard from Pacific. I guess they do a tiered waitlist system even before they handout interviews. Tier 1 seems like almost everyone gets an interview, tier 2 has a moderate chance and tier 3 has a very slim chance. After put in tiers, initial invitations are sent out on January 31. Interesting. I got put in tier 2. Guess I'll hope for the best!
Congrats!! 🙂I received an email last Friday inviting me for an interview on Feb 14 for Pacific University in Oregon. Good luck everyone!
Thanks, Soccerlover233!! Fingers crossed even though it seems like a dim chance for me at this point! I want to tell them I can drive to campus in 20 mins if anyone fails to show up for their interview ;-)I declined my interview for Pacific so hopefully some of you tier 2's get a shot at the spot!
I got placed in Tier 3 also. I can't believe they have tiers for their interview wait list. It seems a bit weird to me. But I'm holding out just in case. I should tell them that I live close by in case anyone no-shows on interview day. Good luck to all you guys who got interview invites!
Hi Everyone,
I just got an interview with Pacific. Can anyone tell me what type of writing sample they will make us do for the interview? I'm curious to know... thanks for your input.
Congratulations on your acceptances!! Both Pacific and EWU are excellent programs. When did you have your Pacific interview? I had mine last Saturday and I'm still waiting to hear back!I was accepted via email earlier this afternoon. I haven't decided if I am going to go with Pacific or the others yet so don't give up hope. I am hoping to decide after I visit Eastern Washington this weekend and meet everyone. I'm leaning that way because of the tuition, but I want to fully vet the program before deciding.
Thanks for the encouragement! I'm usually a " don't worry about the things you can't control" type person but the number 33 is just a little higher than I was expecting, and it's shaking me a little. Just got to keep reminding myself that it's out of my control. It's just a bit unsettling to know it might be a close call for me, and that I'll probably have to wait a while to know if I got in. Here's hoping that 100K tuition is a big enough disincentive to make a lot of people choose other school besides Pacific.I was accepted via email earlier this afternoon. My pacific interview was February 13th (Friday the 13th haha). They notified me really fast about a decision. It really surprised me. I expected them to take the full time until March. Now I have to decide which school I want to go to. I also got accepted today to University of Vermont. So now I have even more to think about.Congratulations on your acceptances!! Nope. Nothing here. I really don't think they can say anything until the March 14th. At that point they could update the waitlist. But it won't be until March 20th or later until they have any significant moves. At #20 I think you are gonna get in eventually. Pacific is really expensive, which is a huge disincentive, and most schools don't get a yes from more than 65% of their acceptances. But obviously I'm bias because I'm #33 lol.
But if CU Denver goes through 107 acceptances to fill 66 spots (61.7% "yes rate") then I can't imagine Pacific's is any higher.
I need Pacific to go through 83 acceptances to fill their 50 sports ( 60% "yes rate").
You only need them to go through 70 (71% yes rate).
This is not taking into account the benefit of people withdrawing from the waitlist.
So I think you're in eventually and, at #33, I'm gonna be right around the cut-off... yikes. YIKES! I could be waiting until August!
Also, the reminder email I got from Pacific last week said "Confirm your spot on the Tier 1 waitlist", so I think this supports the idea that they expect to go through 30+ on the wait list. 🙂Thanks for the words of encouragement. I hope we both get in. Pacific is on my top three schools of choice. I loved the campus and facility. Gawd this wait is killing me. :'(
