Hi guys,

I've recently been accepted to Oregon's Pacific University and MCPHS-worcester campus. But really torn between which school to attend. I find that they're both 3 years, even with almost identical tuition fee, living cost is not that different either as I checked the apt prices.

Pacific has the P/NP 90% passing rule. I don't like it or dislike it as i never had experience with this kind of system, so no preference at this point.

I'm more concerned as which school has higher residency acceptance rate or in the area around these two schools, which area has a better job market? I know the job market isn't good right now, but still which one might be relatively better?

I have heard about Worcester's weeding out process, as many people don't make it out, what is it really like?

Pacific is a relatively new school, so does that put me at a relatively disadvantage as it's not well-known compare to MCPHS?

I have the same question. Is MCPHS Worcester a more competitive school? I saw a thread on here that people complain about how MCPHS don't care about its students, etc. The only reason I like Pacific is that it is close to home.

I've heard of people being absolutely miserable at MCPHS. They lose a lot of their class every year and student get royally Phucked. Don't risk it.

I had an interview yesterday, and I personally asked my interviewer about the high drop out rates back in 2007. His answer was that there was a change in admission criteria in ~2005 that probably let in some people who shouldn't be admitted and this string of people did not do well. He also mentioned that people who actually goes onto SDN to complain about it could be biased. Not many people who were doing well would come on SDN to tell you otherwise. And I agree with this. i then asked him if there has been curriculum changes made, and he said yes, curriculum and admission criteria. hope this helps
