I've done approx 75 clinical volunteer hours, 75 shadowing hours, and upwards of a thousand in research. I plan to do another 20-50 clinical volunteer hours over the next couple months. Is this sufficient to then spend the summer getting paid clinical experience as a PCT? I'm also getting involved in non-clinical volunteering, but apply in June so I'm not sure how much I will have accrued. Thoughts?

there isnt a hard line for this stuff. Adcom's dont want to see that you have successfully gone through your checklist and addressed each item. they want to see trends. If you switch to more paid-type stuff in the summers that is totally understandable. Many pre-meds do EMT sorts of things as a way to bolster the resume. My advice would be to keep a couple recurring volunteer gigs (~2-4hrs/week, or something every other week.... whatever) up until you are accepted at least. It isn't hard to manage, and while reading through the amcas it will convey a message that you were busy just doing cool stuff
