Should do about 20-30 implants in my AEGD. How do people feel about implant fellowships? Wasted income year?

Not necessary, you should be able to head straight to private practice.
By the way, which AEGD do you attend? Placing 20-30 implants sounds awesome.

Yea no to the fellowship. My AEGD had excellent experience with implants. If you're super into the idea of implantology, do OMFS or Perio after AEGD

That not out of the realm of possibility in todays AEGD climate. My co-resident placed about 30, and I placed 17

I mean three years of school for a lifetime of surgery? I believe its worth it, but my case isnt everyones. If you're married or have kids and stuff then ya three years is tough.

I was considering it but I'm worried about time investment. Plus I still enjoy doing Endo/restorative.

Looking into perio now. Wasn't aware programs place +100, on top of all other surgeries. Even some are paid, though very competitive. I feel like I would miss restoring, but I'm not happy that I would be some what limited in my surgery scope as a general dentists.

I made the decision to specialize because general practice is difficult. If any specialist craps on the GP, theyre fools. I'm going into perio to learn one facet of dentistry, master it, and do it well. Only the best of the best can be really great GPs.
