I applied to about 50 FM programs and 10 IM programs.. already have 3 rejections.. myeras has been silent since last week... should I be worried already? I wonder what I can do to get those elusive IVs!😡 my scores are 75, 87, pass, and 87... this is very frustrating! finished med school in 99..😕

What have you been doing the last 9 years? I see 2 red flags in your app (Barely passed Step 1, almost 10y out of med school) and you only gave us 4 things to go on. I wouldn't say it's panic time yet but another 50 FM apps wouldn't hurt anything but your wallet.

I would definitely go for more applications. you just applied for 60. I guess you need to apply more for FM some of my friends with less than 5 years of graduation and both steps >90 applied for more than 100 spots.
if you read the NRMP data booklet 2008 match ,they say that the main reason for IMGs to left out of match is that they apply just for a limited spots and they suggested that we should apply more. don't be panic, the other reason is the fact that most of the programs evaluate IMGs after the deadline which is Novermber, if they have enough AMG and good applicants they don't respond to us, if not then they start their search to find an IMG.
good luck

Thanks Gutonc and Dermlover! will consider your suggestions..😀

Applying to more programs is not a bad idea, but bear in mind that some programs will not interview people who are more than 5 years out of medical school, so it may behoove you to check before spending the money.

That is true. before applying for any spot, check their websites and read their eligibilty criterias...choose wisely.
wish you best
