FWIW, I had a friend last year that got 6-7 questions with egg/larva pictures, so just triage it. If you have time, it could be worthwhile to flip through the pictures a few times, because these questions should be gimmes if you recognize the picture. But no worries if you don't have the time, because n=1.
Is there a way to systematically D/D the parasite pics.. like how do u D/D a diphyllobothrium latum vs taenia solium va taenia saginata gross ?

just by that mini hx i know which parasites youre talking about lol, btw i have picmonic, but do you know how that compares to sketchymicro?By the history/presenting sx...
they would never just give you a picture and say "what is this". Did they eat fish? pork? cow? Do they present with megaloblastic anemia or seizures/focal deficits?
Outside of my moderately snarky answer above, the only gross differences I know bw the above is that t. solium has hooks around its mouth (scolex?) and t saginata does not. Besides that, I know what giardia and trichomonas look like, and I know the spines for the different types of schistosomiasis. That is the sum of my gross identification of parasites knowledge and it was more than sufficient for the last 4 NBMEs and the real deal. I actually felt way overprepared for all of micro thanks to sketchy and wished my exam had more of it.. I guess this is just a super long winded way to say, not need to stress about precise gross parasitology. Its not a test for parasitologists.
I have no idea what picmonic is and never used it but, but sketchy is amazing. Will pretty much guarantee you kill micro on the boardsjust by that mini hx i know which parasites youre talking about lol, btw i have picmonic, but do you know how that compares to sketchymicro?
Thanks.. just wanted to know.. did any/all involve actual identification of a photograph of a parasite ?I just took the real test a few days ago, had at least 4 parasite questions. You should definitely cover it.
