Do I need to add my parents' to my FAFSA? I'm 23 and under the guidelines given on the FAFSA website, I can be classified as an independent. However, it says on the parents' info opening page that if I'm planning to go into the medical field, I should include my parents' info. What's the best thing to do? Thanks!
 
Technically, you do not have to include it because you are considered independent. However, many schools give out aid and want to see your parents' info for it. I know that my school said to just go ahead and put it down anyway. It won't affect your EFC and any subsidized loans, so it can't hurt you.
