I recently got a ticket for parking in a handicapped spot. I know I know. The lot changed signage on me. I was just wondering if this is something that can show up on a background check or needs to be disclosed on ERAS or would come up in the residency process at all. I know this is a minor problem, I am only worried about it because it was for parking in a handicapped spot. I am concerned that residencies might think it is unbecoming of a doctor to park in a handicapped spot, especially since I am thinking about PM&R. A woman at the courthouse told me that if I paid it that it would not appear on my record, but that if I tried to contest it that it would generate a record that could appear on a background check. I am just wondering what you all think.

I'm scared about this stuff too. I picked my nose and flung a booger onto the floor of the hospital, and I think one of the janitors might have seen me. What if they report it to my dean and then the dean tells all my programs about this? What should I do?

Only misdemeanors or felonies show up on a background check, not minor traffic tickets.

Well it's not like you stuck a penny in the door.

Seriously? Its a parking ticket. Illegally parking in a handicapped spot does not show up on your record. Its not even a misdemeanor.
