Hi All,
I would like to ask a question related to part 2 ..it is that i am dental student and im currently visiting the US. it is said that observing at a dental clinic or a hospital have a great impact on you application when one apply for dental school admission. but as a visitor i can only observe for a shorter period of time..so i was wondering if NBDE part 2 could cover up for this observership and make my application stronger for those universities that ask for part 1 only? will it help me increase my chances for the admissions.

i also have another question..what are the main core boosk for part 2 prep..just like part 1 its first aid NBDE and dental decks that were of mportnace the rest were refernce..so are the ABSOLUTE books that are required for part 2?..please do help

part 2 makes ur application strong. usa experience is v.imp, nothing can replace it.
use first aid,decks,mosby for part2.

Some schools REQUIRE part 2, some others RECOMMEND that you have passed it, and some others just DISREGARD. So it's not entirely true that part 2 makes your application strong, for some schools it just doesn't matter, at all...

US experience is a must, shadowing/assisting is very important.

Regarding part 2 material I suggest you search the forum there are several threads dedicated to this.

For study material buy mosby's pt 2, dental decks and asda papers. I also used board busters which i found to be very good...its like a combination of mosby and the important stuff in the decks.
