Hi, I'm totally new to the MD/MBA scene. Quite honestly, I don't think you would learn that much from a MBA program. Does a part-time MBA serve the purpose of getting higher salaries? ie. Do employers buy that?

What isn't there to learn? If you have no business foundation at all you learn how business operates which can be important in MANY different factors of life to understanding investments, how to create a budget, or how to market your practice. There are many many relevant issues that can be addressed in an MBA for physicians. And while I would hope that those who do the MBA aren't doing it solely for money (because realistically you aren't going to make a whole lot more in your normal job with it as a physician) you have another set of skills that you can use which makes you more valuable (hence the more money). Plus you can enter fields outside of clinical medicine.

What do you think MBA major (concentration) should be in for the docs? Healthcare or Enterpreneual for example?
Thanks
