Hi Please answer the ques:
Which reflex is exhibited by masseter when tapped on side of the face?
1)stretch
2)withdrawal
3)golgi tendon
4)cross extensor
5)mass muscle
I think its stretch or withdrawl, but could anyone explain with reason?

P-wave in ST segment is analysed on EKG,this would indicate ectopic beat originating in
1)Atria
2)A-V node
3)lower portion of bundle of his
4)upper portion of bundle of his

Thanks in advance

Anyone..........please do answer it.

Do you mean atrial depolarization on upper fibres of bundle of His?

I don't think so.

Hi Gavin

I am confused about this Qs. I also think it's not atrial depolarization on Upper fibres of Bundle of His. Could you please tell me the correct answer and if possible, why. Thanks.

1.) masseter reflex is a stretch reflex with the afferent nerve cell body (the mesencephalic nucleus) located intra-axially within the brainstem.

2.) P wave is seen in ST segment due to ectopic beat in the AV node, and this beat is characteristically inverted. with the QRS usually narrow.

I hope this helps
