Hello all of you lovely people!

I wanted to reach out to see if anyone knew what kind of stats were accepted to the NIH/OxCam MD/PhD program (track 2)? I have quite good research experience (5 co-authors, 1 first author in good journals) and a bunch of abstracts, and have done a lot of research in undergrad and after my undergrad.

In general, I am extremely passionate about neuroimaging and translational applications. My stats are not as beautiful as my research history but they have not kept me from getting interviews at a bunch MD/PhD programs, for which I am extremely grateful.

I can't find any tangible statistics online. I feel like this international collaborative program would be a great fit for me, but I don't want to bother all of my PIs if they have a cut-off of a 3.9 or something.

Thanks as always!

I am in a similar boat as you: strong research record, decent but not outstanding stats.

From what I've read online the program has a very high academic standard. However, they are receptive and I was able to schedule a call to get more information. On the call they said that they will fully review all applications and don't have any official "filters". The only cutoff worth mentioning is that Cambridge has a 3.5 GPA minimum for acceptance to all graduate programs as a University. They also mentioned that their process is NOT rolling, so there is no advantage to applying in October vs closer to the December deadline. On my end I'm wrapping up some projects so will prefer to hold of on applying until I can add those to the CV. Also it seems that they do not accept many MD/PhD students per year. But also, I got the sense that there aren't a TON of applicants..... Overall, I think that their average stats for accepted students will be very very strong, but a student with a profile like yours/mine does have a fighting chance.

In any case, I'd encourage you to speak to them directly as they are friendly and open.

okay thank you EvoMed! I will reach out -- I think it might be worth applying, and I think I would regret it if I didn't!
