Pass/nopass question

So far in looking at other topics regarding, I read that it will not be counted into my GPA at all. I just want to be sure.

I'm thinking of using pass/nopass for one of my GE class so I can focus more on the more important classes. This would be the first class and probably only one I used it on if I decide to do so.

Is there any major disadvantage or would anyone strongly advise I not do this?

IT's fine, I took an upper division writing class using pass no pass. No school's ever questioned why I did that. You'll be fine too as long as you're not using P/NP on a PRE-REQ class
