hey guys..i wrote the DAT last year and did mediocre on them...got like 15s across pretty much and an 8 on the carving. i am planning writing it again on november 4...but not im not sure if schools get to see my past scores or what...wat is the deal??? how does this affect my chances?

schools will definitely be able to see your past scores because both sets of scores are submitted. however, your chances are still pretty good if you do well the second time around and everything else on your app is solid

Is "writing the DAT" how people say things in Canada? Just wondering, because I've seen a couple canadians say "writing the DAT" instead of "taking the DAT" and always was curious.

they say it that way in India, countries in Africa, and in many parts of the world.

Don't say write the DAT when you come to America because everyone will just smile. You don't write anything on the exam. If anything, you read the DAT and click the DAT, but you certainly don't write anything on the computer screen. Whoever decided to start calling it that should be run up a tree. I thought the rest of the world had better sense than that.

Lighten up dude... before you know it half of your classmates in dental school will be from a different countries over the world....

good luck w/ your interviews if you get any..

ps. no need to make someone feel bad about their DAT score, not everyone had the "blessing" of living here in the states all their life to score 25's on the RC..
