Hello all!

So this is my situation. I took my DAT a couple of months ago and received a score of 21AA/22TS/17PAT. I thought I could do better on the DAT, so stubbornly I took it again receiving a 21AA/22TS/15PAT.

I was shocked at the score. I'm just wondering if I need to re-take the DATs just because of the DAT score? Or will it be okay...?

I don't think many can give you sound advice (this is a tough situation)....There is a reason why your not supposed to retake a strong DAT (such as your first one), because you run the risk of doing worse.

You should call each of the schools u've applied to, and see what they recommend

Different schools assess multiple attempts of the DAT in different manners. For example, some will only accept the most recent score, others will look at the overall best attempt, and still others will consider both. In addition, many schools don't put much emphasis on the PAT. With a proven AA and TS twice over, I think you will be fine with regards to the PAT. I would ask the schools you are applying to how they consider multiple attempts.

I was trying so hard to raise my science that I did not focus too much on the PAT. Bad mistake. Just practice and you will be fine. Don't be like me who doesn't practice... I just brushed it off till the very end and then it was too late...

off the top of my head, two schools that definitely won't be an option because of your scores are Tufts and UoP. Tufts requires 17 in every section or you'll get declined (ask me how I know 🙂), and UoP has a PAT average of 21 and does stress the importance of that section...

About Loma Linda,
They prefer Seventh Day Adventist strongly
If you are non sda, you have lower chance
Beside, their average pat is 20

Some schools will take the highest score from each section across all attempts to take the test. Find out from the schools.
