Hey Guys,

Can someone explain how the END figure shows dashed lines for the triangle (where it goes into the base) but the FRONT view doesn't? Are those dashed lines not from the triangle?

I said C was the answer simply because the end view made it look like the triangle was going INTO the base... so the edges would be further out on the bottom (so C/D)

Also... I had trouble distinguishing between the circular base and the triangular... I only guessed on that at the end. Are there any tips for seeing the circle/triangle?

I honestly think the answer would be "A". I come to this conclusion because you can rule out "B" and "D" right off the bat given then that they have straight lines that hug the pyramid rather than the curved ones as evidenced in the FRONT VIEW. I rule out "C" because there is nothing in either the FRONT or END view that would indicate that there should be vertical dashed lines as in "C" because the pyramid doesn't actually go into the base. If that was the case then there would be diagonal dashed lines in the FRONT view as well.

In regards to your question about what the diagonal dashed lines are in the END view. Well you see how in "A" that the two circles on either side seem to go around the pyramid and in the FRONT view they curve up the pyramid? Well that curving up the pyramid happens inside of the edges in the END view so the dashed lines you see are the curved pieces going up the side of the pyramid. I'll do a quick picture in paint for you and post it if that would help.

Here is a real quick MS Paint sketch. The red line is the dashed line that you see. See how it goes up the side of the pyramid? That's why it's diagonal in the END view. I hope this helps.
