Pat - TFE question

Just started doing the pat section. The way I do it is like in the "wicked sick pat tutorial" ( http://forums.studentdoctor.net/showthread.php?t=528643 ) where you compare shaded and dashed lines in the 2 given views with the view you are looking for.

So question is... is this considered "line counting?" I read you are not supposed to line count as it does not work on the DAT. So I can't do like the method above or is line counting something different?

line counting and understanding the dash vs. bold lines are two different concepts. Some people don't take the dash vs. bold lines into account and only count the lines. The examples that you've shown are not just for counting lines. They show HOW the certain line will show up in TEF. hope this helps.
