Hello everyone! I am struggling with the Top/Front/End sections of the PAT. My method right now is to first use the "line counting" strategy, and then try to visualize the object in 3D. This is not going so well for me because I really have trouble visualizing the object in 3D.

I would really appreciate some new tips/methods/strategies! Thanks 🙂

PAT has gotten tougher; in the past and also on the CDP line counting usually lets you eliminate at least 2 of the answers. But on my test you can MAYBE eliminate one wrong answer choice using this method. So don't rely on it. As far as strategies go I personally visualized the objects in 3D but generally most ppl don't do this because it takes a lot of time and is difficult.

Hi! I was struggling with tfe for WEEKS when I first started studying. I kept on doing problems to the point where I got comfortable connection what line patterns led to what object. I also found it helpful to focus on "okay, in this orientation, the line is solid. However, b/c there is a <eg> cut out region in this face, it won't be visible here, so therefore, in another orientation, this will be dotted."

There will always be one detail that will make one answer choice stand out from the rest. Are you practicing using CDP? My mistake was beginning with the achiever- big big big mistake, it totally killed my confidence. Another tip- do not try to visualize the image in 3D. You will waste a lot of your time. They key is to keep on doing problems until your brain begins to think the way the exam needs you to. I hope this helped!

Be careful with Line Counting, it won't work most of the time on the real thing, many people have told me that at most they can eliminate 1 choice through that.
