I can't seem to finish this section in an hour. :-/ I took the dat three years ago and scored fine in this section (20) but now for some reason i have gotten soooo slow! it took me 1 hour and 20 minutes to do one test of CDP. The result was fine but if i can't finish it in time then it's really not reflective of the original score. I took another one today and stopped at one hour to see how i scored haha and obviously it wasn't pretty. 🙁

Did anyone who has taken the dat already have this trouble and got better at it? Any specific tips that helped you or all I need to do is just keep practicing?

thanks!

are you talking about the PAT? sure i have some tips
i improved from 15 when i first did a practice test at kaplan to 25 on the actual DAT within 2 month

for the questions where u put an object through a hole... make sure everything fits to scale. even the smallest detail. picture that object 3 dimensionally in your head and rotate it around

for the front top side question a good trick is to count how many angles that are on a plane and compare to the options. this one of course you also have to picture it 3d in ur head

for counting block ones the best trick is to BECAREFUL when counting. that is the best advice since its the easiest part of the test

for the angle ranking one always compare each angle to an imaginary 90 degree angle and 180 degree angle. Also, the choices lead you to the right place. for example maybe 4 of the 5 option start with angle a. so you should look at angle a. first you know? and if u get stuck between two.... follow your instinct. IT WORkS

For the folding one, just look at the folding pattern backwards... and remember that MOST of the dots should be punctured SYMMETRICALLY.... unless its a hard one.

for the folding one. just focus on the most uniquely shaped thing and look for it in the options

hope this helped ^^

Keep Practicing..1st test and hour 20 mins is not bad...by the time u r on 4th or 5th u should be fine..

I am hoping the same to happen with me too...because even I cant finish in a hour and I have already done 2 tests
