  1. Pre-Medical
I was talking with a classmate of mine today (pre-med here -- not vet), but anyway... she was telling me that her cat had a patellar luxation done 2 weeks ago and they bandaged the entire leg to immobilize it. She called today to make a follow-up to get the bandage removed and they told her to bring it in immediately because it should not have been bandaged to be immobilized for two weeks, but rather only a few days.

Question for my own knowledge -- can keeping it immobilized and bandaged for an unnecessary two weeks following the luxation actually cause harm to the leg?

can cause some disuse atrophy that will likely resolve (faster if younger)...
Cat with patellar luxation... that's interesting. Was it traumatic?
