I had a few q's about the feasability of starting a private practice in path. Has it been done? Can pathologists own their own labs and get reimbursed for all the tests etc that are performed in these labs (is this legal or are there restrictions to docs owning labs)?

Are there services that exist that are similiar to radiology's nighthawk services and opportunities in telepathology? can pathology images be sent to your computer at home so you could take call at home potentially (as in radiology)?

are any aspects of path currently being outsourced?

wow...that was a long list, but i think that path will probably change in the future as digital technology advances...path could be the next radiology.

i'm trying to cop a feel for the future of path....(the cop part was a joke)...lol

i think i'm more interested in how far from a city you are actually practicing and why you need to "go into town" to celebrate Oktoberfest...lol....i see you in a lab somewhere in the middle of nowhere sipping on a vodka martini.

They had a courier that drove from Milwaukee to Iron Mountain? Google maps that as 4 hours 19 minutes, but I promise you it's longer in the winter...or if you get behind a slow truck or something. It's not even divided highway north of Green Bay.
