Hooray!!! Rirriri is back!!! :horns: So glad to see you around again! Can't wait to start tomorrow. They've had pity on all of the new recruits: we're all on CP!! I'll be kicking it up with the blood bankers for the month.

Hope everyone has fun. Where did you end up, Rirriri?

Starting on micro/virology. But I don't have to actually start until Weds. 😛

I'm just glad to be done with the eternal orientation.

No, I haven't, but keeping hearing about it. I'm not much of a bar person but will definitely have to check it out.

I still haven't been to Dominics.

I am amused they call it micro/virology, because basically you go to virology for a half a day, and not usually until your second month. Sorry you are starting on CP. I have to go do blood bank, yuck.

Holy Crap. What sorry residency program accepted you?!!!

What were you doing for two years getting baked and wacking off?

Welcome back Horshack. 😱

Pathology residency is like a paid vacation, esp. on CP...enjoy it!

It is still kind of unfortunate to start on CP though, because you can't appreciate it. You feel like you have to show up and do something, but yet you haven't gotten involved in projects or other interests yet, so all you can really do is show up and read CP, etc. I always thought programs should start off with busy rotations so you can then relax with CP later. But what do I know.

agreed...as I started AP only, I never saw any CP for years and when I did, praise the Lord! I thought I had retired...I even went surfing some mornings on my core rotations.

I start with blood banking as well. Today, at 3pm, the chief resident said to me "Nothing else is going on, we don't want to stress you out on your first day, go on home!". I was like "wtf". Keep in mind I did a gen surg internship at this one particular California Bay Area place, back before the 80hr limit...

I'm pretty excited about residency, which is a good thing. I couldn't say the same thing about surg internship!

Yeah, but unless one is at a place like the Brigham (AP for the first two years), someone's gotta start on CP 🙂

I'm on Autopsy this month- not a bad place to start. I imagine I will have time to get a feel for things.

Surg Path/ Autopsy the first 2 months..and I found out I'm on call on the week of Christmas/ New Year. Attacked by the dead- thinking fast and AIMING FOR THE HEAD!!
