Did anyone take the AP or AP/CP boards this month? If so, do you have any advice for those of us who are anticipating taking them next year? Anything in particular to be aware of? Thanks for any help you might have.....

Couple of residents here just took them and said they were tough but fair - one major problem though was that lunch was a pain in the butt. They got an hour, and there were limited options available (such as waiting about 45 minutes in line at Panera, leaving you 15 minutes to eat).

They said the CP boards were harder (although our program does very well in AP preparation so that might not be universal) and full of a lot of obscure details.

Is there any way you can get one of the senior residents at your program to do a post on this forum to give us more details on the Boards? For those of us at programs where the senior people are not doing boards this year (waiting until fellowship year), it would be immensely helpful to get some first-hand intelligence on the experience, including what to study and what not to study. Thanks, Yaah.

Most said the Osler notes are the best to study for, especially for CP. Basically, you have to study everything. One said he went with a strategy of only memorizing the most common translocation for specific neoplasms, and encountered a question or two about "all these translocations are associated with this neoplasm except:"

There are questions on everything.
