I am working on my presentation topic for my rotation and am thinking of talking about heart disease in pediatric patients. Does anyone know of good resources that talk about the pathophysiology of nutritional issues in this group of patients?

Like why some FTT patients are cardiac patients waiting to be found? Or were you thinking of other nutritional issues in cardiac patients?

more the other way around. i am just looking for a good resource that really breaks down to the basics of why pediatric cardiac patients are prone to growth failure. there are either basic resources more for patients or research articles that briefly talk about it in their intro but i am looking for a good peer-reviewed source that kind of discusses this in detail.

You should be going to pubmed and looking at peds cardiothoracics or genetics. It's a compound issue but there are plenty of journals that can help you. It just depends on how familiar you are in using pubmed or searching for review articles.
I've honestly found that looking at the references section on uptodate has very good review articles.
Funny you mention that because we are actually seeing more and more adult patients who've had these issues and surviving to adulthood after surgery.
