Hi pathologists,

From what I've heard pathologists tend to do little to no direct patient care. Is that right? Does anyone know of exceptions to the rule?

For those of you who don't have direct patient contact do you miss it?

Thanks.

Do a search in this forum... there are several old threads regarding patient contact... and if people miss it.

And the short answers (some, but limited / Blood bank & FNAs / Most people don't, so if you love patient contact reconsider pathology).

Not to overload the FAQ... but maybe some of these discussions an a summary could be added... this does seem to come up once or twice a year...
