So I have been looking at various programs and am a little put off by the tuition. I am just beginning my research into OT school, but I am getting the impression that it is not like typical grad school in that tuition is usually waived. What are the non-loan financial aid options (especially for non-minority people who are not low income enough to receive need-based aid)? Are students expected to pay for the Fieldwork II components? I am a little iffy about paying $50,000 plus to train for a job that doesn't make the heftiest of salaries and there is only one in-state program which has only 24 spots per year, so I am hoping for some options.

Hi Sy

Yeah, the non-minority club doesn't do so well in this regard.

This is my second go-round w/ school and this time when I filled out the FASFA, I showed a mortgage and dependents and qualified for loans. (Joy).
Having an accountant make sure that you didn't earn money lasy year could help, especially if you are self employed at all.

As for grants, I cant speak for that.

re: FWII: You pay the school a lot. The school pays the facility a little. You get experience.

good luck
