arg...google video/youtube drives me crazy lately. They list things as being accessible, then you click on them, then they have been pulled for copyright/etc reasons. Please don't list them at all or flag them so I don't waste my time and effort finding out after-the-fact that they have been pulled. It always seems like now they go on copyright infringement rampages and remove what seems to be about 1/3 of the content of youtube every few weeks. I don't blame them, but the interface needs some work....
😡

Couldn't agree more. It's absurd. I'm all for artists etc receiving compensation for people viewing their work, but it makes me livid when I can't find some huge, mainstream thing on youtube, then find out a week later it's because some label had an issue with youtube that week. The internet just moves things too quickly and companies can't keep up, but still want a share of everything.

2nd part in our area...not a huge surprise after hearing about SDN posts (esp Tom Tarter, EM), but man....😱

"um, (Mrs) Sweetie...you should probably watch this, but only from the beginning....or maybe not at all....yeah........It's pretty good and I know and I've told you about what to expect, but this can be reality."

We both know full well going into it, but it can be very sad how it impacts spouses, families, and even themselves...🙁

So, if my tally is right (and it well may be off as I wasn't paying too much attention) out of the seven, four got divorced and two never got married. Sounds about right for medicine.

That one guy, the anesthesiologist. When he was talking about how he wanted to marry someone in medicine but was glad he ended up with someone not in medicine, didn't it look like his wife was pissed as all hell?

Tom certainly took a different turn. Forget that he gained like 100+lbs, but he got himself into a position where he can barely find work in EM? Damnnnnn

I noticed that too- the look on the wife's face was priceless!

She looked shocked really. It made me wonder how the communication in their relationship is, and accordingly how strong their relationship truly is.

Why can the guy barely find work in EM???

Why can the guy barely find work in EM???

According to him, he didn't get along well with management because his reports weren't always complete on time. He said he spent more time with his patients than doing paperwork.

And they showed him having to fly away from his fourth wife to get temporary work, and living out of hotels.

How bad do you really need to f**k up to ensure that you wouldn't be able to find a job? Yeah, he got let go by a hospital, but he graduated from Harvard...does getting fired from one job blacklist you from any others? That seems a bit too harsh, although I'm sure his image played a large role as well.

He apparently lived in a small enough town where there was just the one hospital. He bought/built a house there and had already settled down in that area and really didn't want to leave. I think in the video or interview he mentioned taking some part time clinic work around town at walk in centers, but I guess ultimately had to start traveling to get decent work.

Said after a few divorces that his credit was shot and couldn't afford health insurance, hope he gets back on track soon though.

That sucks. One of the best aspects of medicine is always being able to find a job.

He lives in Bloomington, Indiana (home of IU!) and the most beautiful part of the state. Once you get there, you don't want to leave. I think they said there was only one hospital in town so he has to go elsewhere for work. I imagine if he would relocate, he would be ample opportunities. He admitted he was habitually late on his charts but he may also have had a "culture clash" with the relatively conservative Hoosier docs.

Yeah....I convinced my wife to watch the first half (gulp....2nd half :scared:....baseball with kids...oh, btw - divorced...) but I certainly didn't need her there to tell me that she was about to say and do if that camera wasn't there...I couldn't believe that considering the camera caught the whole thing they just didn't make it official...

And the EM doc's 3rd? marriage? "I'm turned on by his intelligence". Yeah...a definite warning sign...
