😡 I am mad at them!!! Remember how you are supposed to choose the schools to which you're applying when you're registering for the PCAT so they can send it to them? Well guess what? most of the schools I'm applying to use PharmCas, and I didn't choose PharmCas. I called them and told them about it, they told me something like "oh, we can't do anything about it now, you have to wait until scores are out and then request PCAT transcript." I was MADDDDDD 😡 😡 , it just didn't make any sense to me; if a school is using PharmCas to receive PCAT scores from PCAT company, then why the hell do they put that school's name in the list? I was like you need to refund my money; she goes,"you're not the only one to whom this has happened and blalalalaa, since this was our first year of trying this; I wish the situation was handeled better than this by us." I was like damnright! The thing is, when I request another transcript, it's gonna get to Pharmcas a later than everyone else's by about 7-15 days they said.

Anyways, they made me go crazy on the phone 😡 ; just wanted to let off the steam a bit.

That same thing happened to me. I emailed them about and they told me to send $18 and letter telling them where to send the PCAT scores. I went ahead and sent the $18 before I even took the PCAT, I hope the scores will get to PharmCAS at around the same time it gets to the other schools.

So you didn't check with the schools first to see what the PCAT requirement was? I think I see where the bulk of the problem was.

And you don't seem to understand what the problem is!! I said it before, and I say it again: IF, a school uses PharmCas to receive PCAT scores, then why in the hell would the company put that school's name on the list of "scores to be sent" list??? I think anyone in the right mind would understand that that's misleading, and that the company needs to be warned about it. period.

I understood what you said...you couldn't be bothered to check with the school to see what they required and relied on a 3rd party to supply information to you. See, I could understand if people were confused by what they read from the schools and from PCAT and spent extra money because they sent results to both PharmCAS and the schools, but this wasn't the case.

I still disagree with you; there is more to it than that, but I just don't want this to become anymore lengthy than this.

2005pharmD,

I understand imperial frog's point as well. But to answer your question, some of the PharmCAS schools still require that your PCAT scores be sent directly through The Psychological Corporation as well as through PharmCAS (MUSC is one of these schools). This is the only reason I can think of that validates leaving the individual school codes for PharmCAS schools. Hope this clarifies some things.
