Anyone planning on taking the PCAT in October start studying yet? I bought Dr. Collins 2016 version but I don't even know where to begin!
Hi! I'm thinking about taking it in October! I haven't officially started, however I have been reviewing biology terms for a week now. I'm using the Kaplan 2016-2017 book.

Good luck!

Hey! I am taking it in 2 weeks and I started by reviewing the notes first and taking my own notes on them. After that, moved onto the questions and revised the ones I got wrong and learned from my mistakes immediately after I completed the test! Do you mind telling me how many pages long your chem and bio packets are? I just want to match them up with mine because I have the older version of Dr. Collins.

Hey, I plan on taking the PCAT in October as well. I plan on buying Dr. Collins by next month after I send my daughter off to college. Do you want to study together. We can Glide, text, call, etc?

Sorry for the late response! So it's broken down like this:

Gen Chem: 39 pages
Organic Chem: 45 pages
Biochem: 10 pages
18 Chem practice exams

Biology: 29 pages
11 bio practice exams

Good luck! Let us know how you do!!

Yeah sure! That sounds like a great idea. There's A LOT of material on the Dr. Collins study guide, so overwhelming

Hi Pharm K1015 is the newest edition of Dr. Collins going to the new changes that is going to take in effect in the July pcat? I heard that there are more passages in the chem and bio parts. Can you verified with your edition. Im thinking of pulling the trigger but unsure if Collins would be helpful. thanks

Honestly, I haven't even looked at the practice exams yet. I've just been studying and taking notes off the Dr. Collins study guides so far. But I'm loving this prep course so far, lots and lots of info!

I am also planning in October 2016, if not than November. I haven't registrate yet, by I should. Because if I would have a deadline, it will be better to get organized finally.
I started with a chemistry part for a reason. In fall I am taking biochemistry and organic 2. Both of this classes need a good review of organic 1, bio, gen Chem for biochemistry, and organic 2.
But like I said to bad that I don't have a deadline yet, because it's a summer, and I am tired still from the previous semester.
So I started with a textbook and my college notes. That's a lot in a book, and hard to cut off what you might not needed. After couple chapters of textbook I moved to Collins to review. He doesn't explain much, except main point, some good suggestions. And than I do practice test on this chapters.
Meanwhile I made many flashcards to study formulas, acids, ions, etc.
Meanwhile I also bought Kaplan Mcat, just to get extra info.
You are all welcome to criticize me, in case I am doing wrong. Cause everyday I do research and try to talk to as many people as possible to get good study advice.

I tried to register for the one in October/November but when trying to register it didn't even give me an option for those testing dates. I could only choose for the one in September or January 2017. Anyone know why that is? Is it maybe because it's too soon?...I was just confused why next year was on there but not October/ November.

I am taking taking the test the third time. I got the same score twice and under the 50 th percentile. I got one interview but was missing classes so I took said classes I was missing and now Im reapplying. Im taking the the Kaplan Live Online course which I feel is pretty helpful so Far. My diagnostic test composite was a 381 which is the 16th percentile . I haven't taken any full length test yet. I will buy the Pearson exams later.

Greetings from Pennsylvania,
I took my PCAT Oct. 26th 2016, and my preliminary score were Bio-90, Chem-98, Read-84, Quant-57, Composite-91. I used Kaplan's PCAT 206-2017 and the 2 included practice exams. I would highly recommend the book; only 40$. Organic Chemistry was almost nonexistent. 5 microbiology questions. I would heavily stress reviewing Anatomy and Physiology notes, knowing specific intricacies of muscle contraction, neural pathways - in fine detail. A thorough review of A+P is critical to maximizing bio score. Chem was the simplest section. Math was brutally difficult.

If you don't mind me asking, what do you mean by neural pathways?
