hey guys, I know this is a PCAT question but its regarding the admission process so please keep this topic on this thread.

Well I am planning to take PCAT for the second time. I am very happy with my science and math score on my first try but i want to redo it because of my verbal and reading. Because of time limitation, Im pretty much studying to the bare minimum for this test. Any days i have off, im working, im taking intersession, (a senior biology course taught over the course of 3 weeks). THe day before my Pcat is also my final for this class. So you guys can see, my chances of acing this test is slim. I would like to know, what if i end up getting a lower score which force me to take it the third time. Will the admission look down upon my application for taking it more than twice? Please give me ur advice. If it is the case, then i will have to forcefully check the no grade box at the end of my jan pcat.

You are allowed to take the exam as many times as you want. As long as you get a desirable score, an admission committee can care less how many times you've taken the test.

I recommend you study smart with what time you have left (2 weeks) and try your best. Score the exam. This way, you will know what section you need to work on if you do need to take the exam again.

good luck🙂

I know that you are worrying. Answer these 3 questions and you will feel better:
1) What is the cause of your worriness: PCAT
2) What is the worse possible of it: having a low grade right? most students applied in my school took it second or third time.
3) How can you improve it? Since you are young and still have 50 years more to go, you have plenty of time to improve it.

Personally, I'm not sure why you are retaking it. I think your composite score is based on bio, chem, and math if I remember right. I scored in the 90s for those 3, scored in the 70s for verbal, and scored in the 50s for reading comp, and ended up with a composite in the 90s. Since you already signed up for the test, I would go ahead and plan to take it again. Do the best you can, but don't stress out. A lot of the time you can perform better when you are less stressed. If you feel you did really well or better than last time I'd submit it for a grade; if not, I wouldn't get it graded. In the end, it doesn't matter too much unless you really bomb this second time around. You can usually take it an unlimited number of times. The only cap on the PCAT that I see a lot is that it must be taken within 5 years of when you apply or matriculate (sometimes 3 years but that is rare).
