Hey guys, i've been reading through some of your posts and have found them helpful thus far.

I have the test coming on the 22nd and have not started looking at any of the material yet. I bought the kaplan rewiew, but that's about it.

What did you guys use to review? and how helpful were they?

I hear the PCAT professor is a popular one, but does it give any type of review and is it worth the 60 bucks?

It's so frustrating to study for it right now considering all the changes. Even the 2005 Kaplan i got is not up the date!

Any feedback is appreciated.

PS, anyone have a spare PCAT professor Username/Password they don't need?

There's already a thread on this topic that may answer ur questions. But anyway, I used the 2004-2005 Kaplan book to review Chem and Bio for the most part..didn't really bother looking over reading and verbal, but there really isnt any way you can study for those sections. Just takes practice I guess through time, can't really cram for it. Make sure you have enough time to finish each section, but honestly, time shouldn't be a problem. There was a lot of Organic in the exam which I felt the Kaplan book did not go over adequately. If you've taken Organic Chemistry I, you should do fine. I had taken O. Chem this past summer, so the material pretty much stuck with me by the time PCAT time came along. Go over old notes if you have any. I found the Bio section pretty helpful. I scored the highest for Bio out of all sections, but then again, I'm a Bio major. 😉 They added lots of Calculus, which the Kaplan review book did not go over at all. I would suggest looking over your Calc notes if you've already taken the course or some quick Calc review book for the quantitative section. Also, know how to convert decimals to percents, percents to decimals, etc. It helps when you're pressed for time, esp. for the math section. Hope this helps, and good luck! 🙂

Just your brain, as many pencils as u bring, your admission ticket, and a valid photo ID. No calculators, and the periodic table was unnecessary to complete the problems. Having gone through some practice probs b4 the exam, I felt as though I needed to memorize the periodic table to do well. lol..not true. But be sure to know the trends in the periodic table, atomic weights of the important elements such as C,N,O, which are semimetals, alkali/alkaline earths, etc. just in case there ends up being probs like those. But to be honest with you, plenty of the material in the Chem section as far as I could remember covered material from O. Chem I and perhaps a tid bit from O. Chem II.

Yeah, i'm just looking at Kaplan's "periodic table" problems and it seems that most of the questions need the periodic table. Questions like:
"which element has the lowest electronegativity"
or
"the element in group IIA is....."
and so on.

None of you found questions like that on the exam?


Also, regarding the new math changes. Are the changes that are made to the math and word sections added on top of what was already there? Or has the whole thing changed completely? In other words, should i bother even looking at those sections in the unrevised Kaplan book?
