I am planning to take the October test. I am looking for resources to use to prepare myself. As I was looking on the web I found a lot more study material for the MCAT. One in particular that impressed me very much was the Examkrackers. I am really considering in buying the latest edition, but I was wondering will I be screwing myself over if I do? I know that the math section in the PCAT is more difficult than the MCAT. Also MCAT has a physics part and PCAT does not.
Are the chemistry, organic chemistry, and Biology parts for both tests the same in difficulty? If not, can someone recommend any resources in PCAT preparation.

Thanks 🙂. Can you tell me the major difference in the biology, chemistry, and organic chemistry sections in the PCAT and the MCAT?

Sure can, seeing how i took both.

Biology is pretty much the same, but much less reading intensive than the MCAT.

Organic Chemistry prep will be the same. You will need pretty much everything they go over in the Examkraker's book (especially the mechanisms and basic nomenclature, know those very well and use the flash cards that come with Examkraker's).

Chemistry prep is more broad than the MCAT in terms of the questions (a broad overview will serve your purpose better than going in-depth.)

PCAT emphasizes test-taking ability - ability to eliminate answers, look for shortcuts, thinking what the question is really asking you. MCAT is really about retrieving that knowledge and reading long passages and applying that information quickly to answer questions.
