There is no essay for PCO. At the beginning of the day you will have your formal closed file interview with a faculty member, at which point they will ask you a series of standard questions. Some of the questions include: 1. Why optometry, 2. What is your greatest academic strength?, What is your GPA? 3. What might be a potential weakness for you in optometry school?, 4. What sort of extra curricular and leadership activities are you involved in? 5. Do you have any questions regarding the school? 6. Are you aware of our curriculum? 7. Why PCO. There might have been a few others but those are the some of the questions I was asked that come to mind at the moment. I found all the questions to be quite fair.
Then I had a tour and financial aid session, which were both helpful. Most importantly you got to ask current second year students questions and they were very good about replying honestly and candidly.
Lastly, you have an exit interview which is an open file interview with an admissions officer. They comment about what may be missing from your file or ask you specific questions from it, and that concludes the day!
Hope that helps ease your worries.
Don't be nervous, just prepared and you will do just fine.
Best of Luck!😛
