would really appreciate advice on:
-places to stay (better to be in philly or elkins park)
-how to get to elkins park early in the morning if leaving from philly
-typical interview questions
-typical interview attire

sorry if this has been asked before.. really appreciate the help 🙂

I stayed in Philly right on the water (on the government per diem, hahahaha) because my dad was there on business. Hyatt regency. Gorgeous. Didn't look into hotels in Elkins park because I had a free room.
I drove since I'm from dc and flying to Philly would be dumb. Drive was about 20 minutes but I allotted 40 in case i got lost. Really easy drive. Not sure about cabs, maybe people who flew in can comment.
Interview for me was about an hour, 1 doctor, and closed file. Asked me a lot of really deep questions about my studies, my intentions/dreams, and what I had done to prepare. Let me ask questions, too. Very conversational. After you have an exit file interview which is open file where they discuss any concerns.
I wore a business suit (I'm a girl) that was a black blazer, pencil skirt, and a deep blue shirt and heels. I can't tell from your username whether you are a guy or girl so use your judgement.

There's an interview feedback sticky on the board-- try that. I didn't interview at PCO, so I can't help with more specific questions, but that post can. Good luck!

I would look at hotels.com. And type in the school address and see whats near. Thats what i did! Dress professional like a business meeting with the president or Donald trump! The questions really depend on the person who interviews you! I personally was asked...

1) whats the difference between the thee O's? Optician, optometrist, opthal..?
2) why PCO?
3) Why Optometry?
4) What do you like the most about PCO?
5) What do you like to do for fun?
6) Where is the optometry field heading to in the future?

Hope that helps.

I interviewed there about 2 weeks ago and younhave nothing to worry about my interview was super laid back. it was basically a conversationnthe entire time with the doctor trying to rush in a few questions right at the end just so he could fill out the paper he had. the questions I can remember are how did you become interested in optometry, why pco?..that was seriously basically all. We just talked optometry most of the time. I would reccomend staying in willow grove, it's about 10 minutes from the school with a ton less traffic and it's cheaper. As for the exit interview, it lasts about 5 minutes. They just ask you to explain any poor grades and how you prepared for the oat.
If you have any questions feel free to pm me.
