Just received this email, thought those who were interested might like to read it.
Cabinet is delighted to announce that PCOM has completed its purchase of a large building on 19 acres in Gwinnett County, Georgia. Purchase was made following unanimous approval by the Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners last week of a special use permit. Designs for retrofitting the building are in preparation. Next steps also include the creation of a self-study for a site visit by the Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation which will take place in late October, faculty hiring, and securing of additional clinical rotations. Student recruitment is underway. Heartfelt congratulations are extended to the entire PCOM Community on the achievement of this major milestone.

Students aren't going to be enrolled until January of 2005, correct? Do you all think this will be a less competitive school to get into?

I hadn't even heard about the new branch. Thanks for the post.

my impression is that PCOM-Atlanta is on the same schedule as the flagship, so classes should start August 2005. The class size is to be around 80 per year. Not sure about competitiveness, but PCOM receives the most applications compare to other DO schools. With PCOM-Atlanta openning, it might receive more application from people who might otherwise not look at PCOM (those from the south). But this is all speculations right now.

I saw jan 05 on the AACOM website too but what i think means is that they are waiting for AOA final approval before they can offer official acceptances. From what I have heard is that would pretty much follow the same schedule as the philly campus. Classes entering fall 05 should start in august. But I might be wrong, I'll stop in admissions monday morn and let y'all know. I am kinda interested myself.
