I dont understand this....We rush rush rush to get our applications submitted and then we got to sit and wait for 3 or more months without knowing???I wish they all would start at approx the same time.......Sorry just venting

I feel ya. I only applied to 2 DO schools and I hurried to get PCOM -GA in first, only to wait....but I guess that is all part of this process...waiting and waiting and waiting.

I know. With three interviews already scheduled at the other schools, it seemslike they really do not have their stuff together... It kills me, too. A few months ago PCOM-GA was my first choice- they are rapidly declining.

yeh...its so weird...its as if they're non-existant.....i have nooo idea whats goin on with PCOM-Ga... they havent even sent me a confirmation email or anything about my secondary...did any of you get a confirmation??

Secondary recieved and submitted at the very first of july

They don't do interview invites until late Oct/early Nov. I can't remember which one.

they're probably allowing time for people to gather that weird LOR from their college dean/pre-med committee. i know i'm waiting for it.

What's this about PCOM's weird LOR requirement? As far as I can tell, they are pretty much on par with the other schools' requirements...from their website, "Applicants are required to submit a letter of recommendation from the premedical committee or premedical advisor of the undergraduate college that grants or will grant a bachelor's degree, regardless of your academic major, course of study or graduation. If that is not possible, a letter from your academic advisor or Dean of the same institution may substitute. Another letter of recommendation, preferably from an osteopathic physician, is suggested but is not required."

I think all the schools I applied to (with the exception of MSU) state very similar requests. I just got one from my academic advisor (even though I'm an old fart and graduated in '01 - lol).

well, most schools i applied to (14) required letters from either: D.O.'s or Science Professors. There have been posts in the past about problems for people like me (who weren't premed majors in undergrad) that had to jump through hoops to get a letter from the dean of their undergrad college. for instance, i graduated 3 years ago, and they dont remember me. I requested it, but it hasnt come in yet.

Or people that have been out of undergrad for several years getting either a MS or a PHD. Why not let those letters fill the void? I called about it and they said nope.. we need undergraduate.
