HI, I am applying to PCOM 2005 entering class and haven't receive an interview invitation yet. From last thread, someone just received an invitation. It seems that PCOM left me out of their invitation list 🙁
Is anyone also in the same shoe?

Thanks.
Kevin

Yeah. I did pretty well with my osteopathic schools...I applied to five, got into three and waitlisted at one. But not a word from PCOM. I sent them an update e-mail today along with the rest of the schools I have not heard from. I really hope to at least get an interview, I have heard great things about the school. Good luck!

I still haven't heard from PCOM. I got into 2 schools so far and no rejections. I do also would like to interview there, but I don't know. I still think they are taking more instate applicants for interviews than out of state. I'm living on west coast.

I haven't heard anything from PCOM. I applied to both their PA and GA programs, and all I received was two identical letters stating that my file was complete, but they heavily recommended a D.O. letter being sent as well (I sent an M.D. letter).

Same here, I sent a letter from an MD, and it hasn't been a problem thus far...hasn't even been discussed at my interviews.

I don't think it's going to be a problem, but the fact that they "strongly recommended" getting one by a March deadline had me worried that they wouldn't look at my application until after it was finally clear I would not be sending one. I ended up shadowing a D.O. during winter break, but not for as long as the M.D., so I don't think I'd feel right asking her to write me an LOR so suddenly. She was really nice too, so I don't want to come off as if I just shadowed her for one reason only.

I really do not think that the lack of a DO letter is a problem. The whole process of getting in to med school is a crap shoot. If you got into other schools congrats and be happy, it may just be that the PCOM roll (craps analogy) did not go your way. Anyway you may get an interview at some later date. PCOM is slow like that. The administrative shuffling does not help this either.

Woke up this morning and had an e-mail interview invite to PCOM. So I guess my little update e-mail yesterday helped. Good luck!

wow thats pretty amazing. what exactly did you update with pcom and what email address did you send it to? i need to do that myself =p

I just sent it to the standard admissions email they give on the website. Basically I just stated my continued interest, listed my grades from last semester and my plans for this coming semester. That's about it!

Gratz, Ornis, may I ask was it PCOM-philly or PCOM-atlanta?
I am considering writing an update letter to PCOM-philly as well. Although, not much to update, except my continual interest w. the school.
I called the admission office today, and was told that decision has not made on my application. Perhaps the truth is that they are just holding it after this round of interview.
Nevertheless, I am optimistic 👍

Thanks.
Kevin
