for the people that have been accepted to PCOM, how long did it take to get a response after the interview? I interviewed on Nov 6, and I knew it's only been a week, but naturally I am anxious

5 days, but I live about 25 minutes away from PCOM so mail time was shorter. I do know that adcom met two days after my interview. I think they meet around the middle of each month.

Good luck.

The admissions committee meets once a month, sometimes twice.

If you interviewed right after they met, then you may need to wait a month.

If you interviewed right before they meet, then you may only have to wait a week or so.

Be patient but give it at least 5 weeks.

PATIENCE....one thing premeds REALLY need to learn.

Good luck

yesssssssss!!!! this feels great. i interviewed early.....like mid sept. and was given a "hold" decision a month later. i sent them my new MCAT score about 10 days ago and they sent me an acceptance today....oh life is great!! PCOM rocks, but they might take a while to accept you....patience is definitely necessary (almost 2 months of waiting for me post interview).

I heard they only meet once a month to decide and I believe it is the third week of the month. My guess is you'll hear back around the 21st or 22nd.

how often do they meet to hand out interviews? My file finally became complete 11/3. I really want to hear from them. Any suggestions?

no clue on interviews at this point b/c I do not know how many spots are open. When I interviewed in mid-september I believe they were interviewing on Mondays and Wednesdays. A 1st and 2nd year there should be able to give you a better idea since they see them in the fishtank/bowl.

i interviewd on nov 6 and they were offering interviews i think 4 days a week

i was complete in september but still haven't heard from them. seems like a lot of people completed after me are getting interviews. wtf?

A PCOM interview may be highly correlated to PA residency. Of the 476 in-state applicants, 317 were interviewed, and 274 accepted. Out-of-state 2678, 347, 136. They and a few other private schools lean heavily in-state. Out-ot-state applicants, unless they're stellar, may often have to wait until the in-state quota is filled.

I thought PCOM ws a private school? But they still favor in-state?

Almost all private medical schools, allopathic and osteopathic, favor in-state or in-region students. UHS is one of the few DO schools that does not favor in-state. CCOM is a near guarantee for IL residents. VCOM favors Appalachia students. Etc.

accepted to PCOM today....hi didillily ho neighboreinos!!

Congrats timpatt! I also got my acceptance letter from PCOM today. I'm really excited since this is my first choice. I am sending in the deposit as soon as I get paid. Look out Philly cause here I come

Hey all-

so, for those who've been accepted, do you receive letters from PCOM, or did someone call you?
Also, when did you interview? I interviewed on the 17th of november, and I think my interviewers told me I would find out (hear from them) at the end of the month (which is this week!)

Thanks all!!!

🙂
