pcom's committee letter req

i see that pcom requires a pre-med committee/advisor or dean letter. to my knowledge, my ugrad has neither. i've been out of school for 3 years, and even when i was there, i never had any contact with the dean of my college. anyone know if pcom will accept faculty letters instead?

I'm almost positive that you would be permitted to do what you have suggested. I would call the office to make sure but I think your ok. In my experience with working with them, they are very understanding people! If there isn't a preprofessional com. at your undergraduate school you can't make a letter magically appear! It's a nice thought though.

Just call to be safe but don't worry about it!

I think they also have listed you can use your academic advisor. In my case, I actually am using my academic advisor as a regular LOR, so it worked out for me in that case. I would call them though, to be sure. I don't think you're going to get much argument if you have other letters that will be more meaningful anyway.

i'm a first year at pcom. they won't make exceptions on this requirement. when i applied to pcom, i wasn't on speaking terms with the pre med advisor from my college, and i had never met the dean. Just call the dean's office and tell them you need a letter stating that you graduated in good academic standing. The dean's office at my college said it was a prety customary thing. Just make sure you get other faculty letters from people that actually know you o the adcoms get a good sense of who you are.

get in touch with your advisor there. Have him/her collect the letters from faculty and write a "committee" letter of sorts. Its basically copy/paste everything into one letter. Idont know of an advisor who wouldnt be willing to help you out...if they arent, they arent much of an "advisor".

My undergraduate institution did not have a pre-med committee either so I just had to get two or three of my science professors write me letters of recommendation.

Well, if your school doesn't have any pre-med advising com. then I am sure PCOM will make an exception. So far, every application I have filled out , (secondaries), they ask you for pre-med com. letter or 2-3 science faculty letters.
