Thanks for help in advance.

I've been using Palm based systems since the screens were black and white, but I'm sort of fed up with the system and platform. I currently have a centro which I use for my schedule, epocrates and Pepid as well as other medical programs. This also handles my phone and texting (verizon).

I'd like to update to an iPhone, but I like having a keyboard and AT&T doesn't work in my hospital. My thoughts are to use an iTouch for medical appications and downgrade my phone to use as. . .well. . .a phone, keeping Verizon.

I have been using the 'memos' function on my palm to jot quick medical notes and alogrithms etc which isn't the best, but it works. Is there something similar on iTouch?

I'd also like to avoid carrying both devices with me all the time. Since the only overlap I'd need is the calender function, is there a way to keep one calender on my desktop that could wirelessly update to both devices?

sorry this is so complex. thanks for your help.

Don't have my computer with iTunes handy right now, but I do know the iPod comes with a notetaking app. Are you hoping to write with a stylus though? I'm not sure if you can do that, or if the app just opens up the standard screen keyboard.

I'm thinking that a Gmail calender might be your best bet. With Google Sync, the built-in calender app on the iPod will sync with G-mail and add all your events and even do alarms and whatnot. You could then get a cheaper Verizon phone (maybe one with Android?) that would sync with Gmail calender as well. You have the added bonus of being able to add events on any computer or either device and everything will get updated accordingly. At least theoretically. You'll probably hit a few bumps along the way before everything syncs as desired.

Ditto that.

Me, too!

Great minds think alike. 😉

Check out Evernote. Also available for WebOS.

I know...I don't really want to go back that, either. (It's called the iPod Touch, BTW...not the "iTouch.")

The way I look at it, I could stick with my Centro until it dies, switch to the Pre (coming next month to Verizon), or keep waiting for the iPhone to show up on Verizon (rumors suggest this could happen mid-year).

For now, I'm sticking with my Centro.

Guys thanks so much for your help.

I have heard the iPhone-Verizon rumors for a while so I might just stick to the centro for a while longer and reassess things a few months. This has been a huge help though!

The iPhone will probably arrive on Verizon's network something in 2010. The problem is that we don't know if it will be in the early, middle, or end of 2010.
